Distortion is complexity, distortion is life. It is that passion for life that fuels the artistic endeavors of Dennis Jacobs aka Sacerdos Vigilia, Dutch DJ and producer who has earned himself a ton of respect since he put out his debut EP in 2013. Drawing his inspiration from the trailblazers of the industrial hardcore sound, he has become one himself, with a trademark knack for distortion – often spiced up with more distortion. And yet, he always has in mind the entertainment factor, which he displays in full when he’s in the DJ booth: You will be hard-pressed finding anyone who authentically enjoys himself so much playing to a crowd. 2020 proved to be a milestone year, with two very different full length albums being released on Meta4 and Traumatic, the latter featuring a string of collaborations with artists who have inspired, accompanied and supported him: Rude Awakening aka Promo, Ophidian, Armageddon Project, Demanufacturer and Cubic Nomad among others. The Sacerdos Vigilia sound has a perfectionist edge and moves freely between the genre boundaries of industrial hardcore and techno, doom and darkcore. Regularly, his tracks also display a very developed sense of humor, which is a unique juxtaposition. The future is open wide, with a musical creativity that has shaken off all boundaries already. There are plenty stories waiting to be distorted!
