Since the age of 10, J.Swann has always loved the art form of emceeing. His mother bought him the album “Stillmatic” by Nas when he was in middle school and since then, the album has changed his life. In 2008, he started to record music and in the following year, he began performing in barbershops and talent shows to share his gift with the world. In 2011, he released his first album “Battle of Jericho” and three years later, he released “Battle of Jericho 2”. A couple years later, J.Swann’s brother and grandmother died 6 months apart from each other. As a result of those tragic losses, he acquired a different introspective approach in his music. He added more street content, alternative themes, relatable stories with a smooth and methodical flow. He added a conscientious point of view while living in Baltimore so that he could express rather than impress. On December 5, 2019, he released his critically acclaimed “Black Swann” album, which has been getting positive feedback from his fans.
