Night Works is the solo project of Gabriel Stebbing, a former member of Your Twenties and Metronomy, and studio and live affiliate of Christine and the Queens. Musically, sharp songwriting chops and loose-limbed funk are the order of the day, with lyrical preoccupations covering seduction, money, confidence, sex and death - the usual stuff. Debut album Urban Heat Island was released to widespread acclaim in 2013, lead track I Tried so Hard - Extended Mix continuing to make waves. 2022 saw A friend indeed, Good Love, Lachrymose and Brunch 4 U setting the scene for second LP ‘Tongue & Groove’. It features collaborations with producer James Greenwood (Ghost Culture/Daniel Avery) and composer Josephine Stephenson (Radiohead/Daughter). Recent releases have been remixes by Moving Still and for Wyldest, and Gabriel continues to write, record and produce from his studio base in Margate, U.K.
