Freewill is a contemporary Christian singer and songwriter whose sound draws from gospel, soul, and jazz. Vivid narratives and positivity fill his music, which includes a pair of EPs, One Choice (2015) and Let's Talk (2019). A pastor's son born in Clearwater, Florida, Freewill moved to Atlanta at the age of nine. After experiencing personal struggles as a teenager, he gravitated toward being an educator and has worked as a young adult minister. In 2015, he debuted with the EP One Choice, led by the easygoing but devout single "Real." Later that year, his cousin Corey Jones, who had played drums on some of his initial recordings, was murdered beside a freeway exit ramp by an off-duty police officer while awaiting help for his disabled vehicle.
