This will not be your regular bio. I am Filippos aka Aphasia and I have been listening to electronic as long as I can remember. I always wanted to create music on my own however I never really took the chance to learn it. At 20, l experienced my first breakup and was completely heartbroken. So, I did what most of us do in a tough spot—I threw myself into something that made sense: music. I started an Instagram page called Technospeedia and just posted clips of my favorite DJs doing their thing. I didn’t expect much from it, but soon, the biggest electronic club in Greece reached out to me. I was DJ’ing alongside some of the very artists I looked up to (Mathame, Innellea, Woo York). I was proud of myself for getting through that rough patch and channeling all that pain into something positive. After a few gigs, I realized that DJing was just the beginning, just the intro, and I wanted more. I wanted to create, to really express all those feelings that had been building up inside me, and that’s when I knew—music was going to be my lifelong “set”. I started off leaning into dark, moody vibes (old Afterlife sound), but now I’m drawn to labels like Innervisions, Amaeo, Microcastle, Melodic Diggers etc. My goal in life is to create music that I’m truly proud of and, one day, earn the respect of the very artists who’ve inspired me as I grow into the producer I’m meant to become. To future me— work hard, be kind, stay humble and don’t stop nerding over sound design.
