Dl. Dani (Dani Ionescu) is an actor and a singer-songwriter from Romania. He graduated acting the National University of Theater and Cinematography in 2014 and has a bachelor degree in Theatrical Pedagogy.In 2018 he was cast in the project Nocturn. An online music video series by Romanian Superstars “Carla’s Dreams”, about 3 relationships gone wrong for different reasons. He played the lead antagonist, “a bad boy with a soft side”. One of the videos from the album reached 30M views on YouTube and became the biggest hit in Romania in the first half of 2019. He was a major character in last year’s Romanian adaption of the German series “Der Lehrer” in which he played a troubled and rebellious kid who has an affair with one of his band mates’ mother. The punk band from the show, “FuckOff” scored a top 5 hit on alternative charts with his version of Minnelli’s Mariola. Beside his work as an actor, Dani Ionescu is known for being a musician. He is the singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer of the band DL Goe. A band that rapidly earned the appreciation of fans and industry peers for their witty, satirical and engaging attitude during their live shows. They released their debut album in 2019, “Tineri, Sâmbătă, Duminica” and received lukewarm reviews from critics and people alike for having a concept album about the working-class young folks of Romania. They had a nr.1 single on the alternative charts in 2019 with the song, “Golan” for 3 months
