Slickartie, born in 1989 as Artwell Neusu, is a self-taught Zimbabwean singer, songwriter and percussionist. Music has germinated in his soul since the days of childhood sing-alongs with his grandmother, percussion band performances in primary school and forays into acapella during high school. His music is inspired by the experiences of his life and of those around him, and has seen him fuse various genres with afro-soul harmonies to produce an eccentric, sensational vibe he calls “Good Music”. A performer through and through, the young artist is also a thespian of note in the local theatre scene. He is a vibrant, collaborative performer who was a lead vocalist of Savannah Afros and the Afrolove bands. He has worked as a backing vocalist for the likes of Evans Mapfumo, Pah Chihera and Blavance in his home country of Zimbabwe, and HELLO WORLD!
