After amassing over 250 million streams on streaming platforms with his instrumental lo-fi beats and producing for many other artists, it’s time for a new chapter. With this new project, KAMAE shifts his focus from producer (Sebastian Kamae) to artist, stepping out of the background. Blending his love for Hip-hop, R&B, Soul and Jazz with new influences, KAMAE explores a more mature, experimental and electronic sound. Avid listeners will still recognize his signature keys, high-end production, and the overall ‘sample-like’ style, influenced by collaborations with artists like Dende, Blvck Svm, Khary, Mick Jenkins and femdot. Starting with music at the age of 5, and leaving home at a young age to pursue his dreams and study music, KAMAE has lived all over the Netherlands and spent a considerable amount of time traveling, building connections and experiences that have shaped his artistic journey. With 2 albums, 10 EPs, and countless features as Sebastian Kamae in his back pocket, KAMAE marks a direction aiming to move listeners, both literally and figuratively. Most recently, he contributed keys to most tracks on ANOTR's debut album, ‘The Reset’, which established the first bridge between hip-hop & electronic music. Starting in 2024, we kick off with a collaborative project with Jalen Santoy, titled ‘A Story For Later’. In the meantime, he is crafting the heart and soul of the very first project in Amsterdam, aiming to not only surprise listeners but also himself.
