DY is a talented artist from Bertie county, NC. He grew up in the town of Lewiston Woodville or "The Hood", where he grew a passion for music as the age of 6 years old. Growing up in a pervert area where he experienced what he likes to call "The Struggle", he started rapping with his friends on a flip phone at the age of 11. By his senior year of high school, DY decided to take music serious. He invested into some studio equipment and dropped his first song which was a remix to YG's "Why You Always Hating" on YouTube. He'd gotten a lot of love from his friends in high school about it, and from then he kept making music! He later on teamed up with a few day one friends and they formed the music group Bang Broz Inc.
