Biography

Márta Ábrahám is an internationally established Hungarian violinist who performs and teaches worldwide. An exceptionally versatile musician, she is not only a renowned and award-winning violin virtuoso but also an expert in baroque music, a visionary educator, and a groundbreaking researcher whose influence spans the globe. Márta Ábrahám is a professor at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, an innovative Bach researcher, and creator of the @ColorfulBACH method. “She is one of the most talented instrumentalists I have seen in my many years of teaching… a born violinist.” – Ruggiero Ricci. She earned a Master’s Degree Summa Cum Laude and a Doctor of Liberal Arts from the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest (2013). Her awards include the László Lajtha Award (2024), the Zebegény Musical Prize (2016) and Gramofon Prize 2014. As a soloist, she has performed in over 24 countries. In 2009 Ábrahám founded the @ÁbrahámConsort, dedicated to the performance of baroque and early music. In 2022, she created the Colorful BACH method, a revolutionary educational innovation. Her publications, including the Chaconne Handbook, Special Complete Editions of Bach’s Fugues for Solo Violin, and Excerpts from Eternity, are highly regarded by scholars and musicians. With a career spanning decades and continents, Márta Ábrahám continues to shape the future of classical music, inspiring musicians and audiences alike with her visionary teaching, innovative research, and profound performances.
