Matteo Alfonso, pianist and composer born in Venice, Italy, in 1976, starts playing music very young. Since early days he was engaged in study of classical music, then he graduated in piano performance, classical composition and Jazz music in Conservatoire of Venice. He played in several Festivals in Italy but also in Europe, Russia, Canada, Latin America. He has collaborated with such great musicians as: Bobby Watson, Ray Mantilla, Eliot Zigmund, Francisco Mela, Jack Walrath, Fabrizio Bosso, Pietro Tonolo, Roberto Gatto and many others. In 1999 he is hired to play six night a week for a month at the Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Center in New York. In 2004 he gets commisioned by Pierre Cardin to write arrangements for the ensemble “Le Troi Element” performed in Paris and in Beijing. During the past few years Matteo took part to the recording of various albums both as pianist and arranger. Presently he teaching Piano Jazz at the Conservatory of Venezia.www.matteoalfonso.com
