BAROKKANERNE, a period instrument ensemble based in Oslo, made its debut in the summer of 1989. The orchestra is Norway’s most active baroque ensemble, with over thirty concert performances annually and Festival appearances. The ensemble collaborates extensively with choirs in the greater Oslo area and offers its own concert series in Oslo, together with regular guest performances around southeastern Norway. The ensemble has been involved in a number of productions for Norwegian Radio and Television (NRK) and has released five recordings: Bellezza Crudel (2L, 2008), in collaboration with soprano Tone Wik and soloists Alexandra Opsahl, recorder, and Per Hannisdal, baroque bassoon; Empfindsamkeit (LAWO Classics, 2012), featuring concertos and symphonies of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, led by baroque oboist Alfredo Bernardini and Christian Kjos as harpsichord soloist; Totally Telemann (Music for Orchestra) (LAWO Classics, 2014), featuring Kati Debretzeni as baroque violin soloist and artistic director, and soloists Alfredo Bernardini, baroque oboe, Torun Kirby Torbo, flute, and Ingeborg Christophersen, recorder; Recorder Venezia (LAWO Classics, 2017) and Er Heisset Wunderbar!
