Born in Germany, raised in Switzerland, then a student of Itzhak Perlman in New York City, and since 1980 a citizen of Montréal, Helmut Lipsky is very active on the national and international music scene. A violinist-virtuoso and composer in the realms of classical, cross-over, jazz and contemporary music, he has recorded many CDs, film soundtracks, music for multimedia productions and has performed – especially with his group MELOSPHERE – at festivals around the world, winning numerous prestigious awards.
