I am VRSYJNES, The Masked Mane from South London specialising in Rare Phonk, Neo-Drill, Mellow Grime, Amapiano and Drum & Bass. I draw inspiration from my memories, social observations and pending conversations, infusing my music with warmth, presence, and soul, no matter the genre. I like to describe my production style as “smooth-but-hard riddims for your soul”. After producing 281-330-8004 for BONES in 2013, I began working with phonk rappers Ramirez, Raider Klan, DOOMSHOP RECORDS & DRAGONMANE. I've also produced Alternative R&B with Ojerime and Jebonair, and had my music featured on BBC 1Xtra, Soulection, Boiler Room, Rinse FM, The Fader, Reprezent FM, Balamii & Amapiano Worldwide. One of my biggest inspirations is MF DOOM. Listening to his music taught me how to create audio collages, build soundscapes, and commit to a narrative. The imagery and sound of masked artists like DOOM, Daft Punk, CASISDEAD & P2thegoldmask continue to inspire me. The 10 biggest influences to my sound are MF DOOM, Three 6 Mafia, Teedra Moses, SpaceGhostPurrp, Skepta, BONES, Roadside G's, Dj Smokey, J Dilla, & Kenny Beats.
