Reed is a music geek who was born into a musical family. His journey began at the age of 10 when it was discovered that he is able to find his way around a piano and produce melodies make sense. This realisation was treated gently and natured by close family, who introduced him to church and showcased his talent every Sunday, following his father's footsteps then later taken to National School of The Arts to refurbish his talent and get an education during his teenage years. As he grew into the talent, he developed popularity at school and developed the name "SAM REED" which ended up being shortend to "REED". He did not keep his real name as his stage name because he does not feel like it adequately expresses who and what he has become as an individual and a creative. During his schooling years, he was able to develop musical skills in which he played piano and developed skills that directly impact his musical mind and understanding of music. REED has been able to co-produce songs with the likes of Kelvin Momo, Mdu AKA TRP & Yumbs, write music with the likes of Nandi Madida, DBN GOGO & Dinky Kunene amongst others and play a role in the production of a music TV show produced by Slikour On Life - (The Unplug) as well as the SAMA Awards(2022), all whilst attending school. With this drive, REED wishes to pursue a career in music that involves creating and sharing music with those who need a voice that speaks to healing, love, hardships and passion.
