James "Akaninyene" King of The GTW, is a Nigerian-American singer, producer, and visual artist. With afro diasporic genre fusion and local inspirations being the basis for his production, he creates euphoric experiences for listeners. Featured in The Guardian, Fader, and Complex, he's praised as an avant-pop polymath with notable remixes for artists like Tink and Spoek Mathambo. Collaborating and being in studio with artist like EYEDRESS, Yuna, Khalif (LE1F), Junglepussy, and more, his musical tentacles spans different genres. Whether it be underground raves or high-profile stages like Lollapalooza and Fader Fort, he delivers professionalism and fun. He's shared the stage with peers like, SZA, Princess Nokia, Kelela and others.
