When you hear the sounds of Tukkiman you realize that he is not just an international artist, but rather the embodiment of what it means to have a worldly sound that connects people of all different cultures and musical tastes. Born and raised in Dakar, Senegal, he is part of the first generations of Senegalese artists influenced by American hip hop and English pop. From playing the Assiko drum in his youth to experiencing this new musical revolution, he began to further create the outline of his musical identity using influences of hip hop, reggae, rock, pop and African rhythms. After building up his lyrics, production, and instrumentation talents, Tukkiman felt that he was ready to embark on the journey to Paris in order to grow his technique. While making his home in Paris, Tukkiman built up his work as a producer and began on his path as a performer building his live show presence performing at a variety of venues and stages all around Europe. Eventually, he found his way to America and put out his first major releases here as well as Europe. Tracing his steps between New York, Chicago, Paris, and Dakar, Tukkiman finds himself at home where ever he is. He hones his art through the moments he experiences with other musicians, composers, producers, and creative individuals.
