Terrance (Dr. Knock) Mackey was born and raised on the south side of Houston, Tx. In a family that loves music Knock has always had a special connection with audio arts. Knock grew up listening to Houston radio stations Magic 102.1 and 97.9 the Box as well as watching Yo Mtv Raps and BET's Rap City the Basement. Knock fell in love with music (rap in particular) during middle school. "It's something about the way these poems and rhythms intertwine to make such beautiful noise that entices me to be apart of its creation." Dr. Knock also grew up in the Christian church most of his life, but admired street life over Gospel in his early years. At age 16 Knock's walk with Christ became more than just religion, it turned into a relationship. In 2001 Knock began to find his place in God and decided to use his gift of creating music for God's Kingdom with friends and group members of C2C (Committed 2 Christ). Continuing his knowledge of audio Knock studied under and joined audio engineer staff at Barron Studios in Houston, Tx. Knock worked as an engineer at Barron for 4 years, 1 year as an intern and the following 3 as a staff engineer. Dr. Knock now plans to share his walk of faith and music with the world in hopes to help lighten the burdens of life for others. "I want people to understand the transcendence of music. The experience of music can change your mood, thought process and even your way of life."
