Biography

Anthony J. Maglione, who was trained at Westminster Choir College and East Carolina University, is active as a conductor, composer, and tenor soloist. His conducting teachers include Daniel Bara, James Jordan, Andrew Megill, and Donald Neuen. Based in Southern California, where he conducts several choral ensembles, Maglione has also served as conductor on the faculty of a number of organizations and festivals, including New York State Summer School of the Arts, Westminster Choir College Summer Vocal Institute, and Piscataway High School (NJ). Maglione's compositions are primarily choral, but he also has experience writing for video games. In 2005, he was commissioned to compose Prayer of Columbus for performance at the United Nations, and he has served as featured composer for the choirs of the New England Conservatory. He has experience as a tenor soloist in oratorio and recital and is featured on the album Greater Love: The English Choral and Organ Tradition. Maglione is a member of ACDA, ASCAP, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, and the American Composers' Forum.
