From humble beginnings and shy performances, Bahamian female recording artist Mama D has finally broken out of her cocoon, captivating audiences with her soulful voice and electrifying saxophone skills. Born and raised in the Bahamas, DeAndrea Austin, better known as Mama-D, is a singer/songwriter, live entertainer, and saxophonist who has carved a distinct niche for herself in the world of music. Music has always been an integral part of Mama-D's life, with its roots firmly planted in her childhood days. From a tender age, she found solace in the soothing melodies of church hymns, and as she grew, so did her passion for music. Soon, she ventured into performing at local events and talent shows, gaining confidence with each step she took on stage. Little did she know that these humble beginnings would pave the way for an extraordinary musical journey. Mama-D's musical style is a harmonious fusion of diverse genres, incorporating elements of Rake N Scrape, reggae and soul. Notably, she had the honor of delivering the lead single on The Best Of The Best Vol 10 album compilation from KTVA Music. Her single 'To All My Haters' proved to be a turning point in her career, widely regarded as one of the top Rake N Scrape records of the year.
