Born in Houston, TX in April 2000 and raised between Nigeria and France, Dre was always a kid that moved around a lot. Growing up, his first experiences with hip-hop were his dad’s record collections and songs he played on car rides. Rapping finally became a mainstay in his life in his senior year of high school in Nigeria. He started his career in fall 2017 and realeased lots of demo tracks on SoundCloud before pairing up with a long time friend Caleb Hampton, to form Gemin-Eye and release the dynamic Don't Text Me EP in August 2018. Still trying to forge forward in the game and develop a unique sound, Dre (born Chidera Okoli) takes inspiration from hip hop greats Nas and Eminem, and two more current socially conscious artists, J. Cole and Mick Jenkins. He also has a more relaxed and vulnerable vibe in many tracks clearly modeled after Isaiah Rashad and the late XXX TENTACION.
