WestSide MOE (Making Obstacles Eradicate), was born and raised on the West Side of San Jose, California, where he still lives today. MOE’s father immigrated to California from Nigeria and his mother is African American and came to California by way of Chicago. He is proud to be from the West Coast where he now has started his own family. MOE started recording music at 13, a natural development from the poetry he wrote as a child. His early recordings were heavily shaped by the east coast and hip hop culture of the 90s and 2000s. MOE’s life experiences as a teen and young adult in the Bay Area influenced his later recordings which have a more trap, west coast vibe. His music has evolved with him to include his relationship with God. He brings a new age flare to Christian rap and combines his faith with his previous life experiences to deliver unique, inspiring, and relatable tracks. MOE hopes his music raises spirits and make obstacles eradicate.
