Grizzly Bird is the moniker of singer/songwriter Hans Gnendinger, who grew up between the mountains and castles of southern Bavaria. Known for his skills on the acoustic guitar and his relatable storytelling through songs, he's been a solid part of the Berlin folk scene for many years. Hans' songs delve deep into the essence of being human, bringing out poetry and bizareness, a bit of melancholy and often some subtle humour. Completing the line-up are Nils Wenzel on bass and Florian Dietrich on drums. Grizzly Bird's debut album Empathy focused exclusevly on animals and their relation to humans. After releasing the EP Somewhere Between in 2021, surviving a pandemic and having two sons, Grizzly Bird released their second album Creatures in May 2024, asking the question: What strange creatures are those human beings, that lovingly raise children while destroying the foundations of life on the planet they live on? Grizzly Bird found a musical family at the studio The Famous Gold Watch in Berlin. Hans wrote string arrangements for Lotta St Joan's album Song for the Undecided and sang with Mone and Lisa Akuah.
