Joey Maloney grew up picking apples in Sebastopol, California where he learned how to play guitar and, in high school, became brave enough to sing in front of other people. He tried out for the acapella choir group and didn’t get in so he started writing songs for a girl who he liked. Things didn’t work out with the girl but he learned how much he loved to write songs! After finishing college he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue music. He released two EP’s, Plant A Story (2015) and Young (2017) while hopping trains in Nashville and started a songwriters collective with his friend Peter Mckeown which they named The Nashville Yacht Club. After 8 years in Nashville he was blown by the wind of the Spirit to Dallas, Texas where he currently resides with the Zion House community. With a great passion for singing the Word of God he released The Psalm 119 Journey (2022) with Mark Woodward. Which brings us to Voyager (2024). The last several years Maloney has traveled the world and written ballads in different cities across the globe. Voyager is an invitation to the listener to step out of the comfort zone, in faith, and embrace the mystery and the unknown. After all, Life is an Adventure!
