Trajik Liedler op.9

Deux chansons du pêcheur Japonais

Die stille Stadt

Biography

Ayşe Ece Güneşşen is a lied interpreter&classical singer who lives in Florence. A master’s degree was completed at the Mimar Sinan State Conservatory in Istanbul and at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, with Gustav Mahler’s “Rückert-Lieder” chosen as the program for the graduation concert. A co-founder of “Ensemble Flaneurs,” a series of concerts has been given since 2017. With this music ensemble, a notable project featuring a music program focused on women composers has been successfully created, performing in various cities and venues. In 2019, the album “Tragic Lieder” was released in collaboration with pianist and composer Cem Esen. In January 2022, the second album titled “Deux Chansons du Pêcheur Japonais,” recorded in Rome with pianist Mert Solmaz, was released. In October 2024, the latest single, ‘Die Stille Stadt,’ from Alma Mahler’s cycle of five songs was shared with music lovers. Güneşşen finds the indirect yet clearly expressive language of the postromantic period closely aligned with personal character. While an opera artist, the true passion lies in lied interpretation. “It is like wandering through the magical world where music and poetry nourish each other and searching for their secrets, remaining enchanted in an unending love,” reflects Güneşşen.
