Biography

Plastic Flowers is the artistic moniker of George Samaras, a Greek producer and academic currently based in London, UK. His musical creations navigate the expansive realm of pop, drawing heavily from genres like Shoegaze and Electronica. Samaras has unveiled three full-length albums, namely 'Evergreen,' 'Heavenly,' and 'Absent Forever,' all released through the Native Sound label. During his post-high school years, Samaras embarked on a journey of self-instruction, mastering the piano and guitar. While in college, he independently released a series of EPs and singles, earning acclaim for their DIY ethos. Driven by a commitment to absolute creative autonomy and a spirit of experimentation, Plastic Flowers introduces itself through a multi-textured iteration of Dream Pop. His compositions feature ethereal synthesizers, jungle-inspired guitars, laid-back vocal melodies, and lush soundscapes. The rhythmic core of his sound emerges from the interplay between intricate acoustic beats and electronic bass. Samaras' fondness for analog warmth and bedroom aesthetics echoes throughout his discography, as he meticulously records and engineers his material exclusively on tape within the confines of his home studio. Plastic Flowers has embarked on extensive tours across Europe and the USA over the past ten years, sharing stages with prominent artists such as Bonobo, Paul Kalkbrenner, A.R.Kane, Still Corners, and many others.
