Biography

Some artists jump head first into hip hop for a quick buck. Others have studied the game while taking time to perfect their craft. First impressions often last forever when you hear an artist such as Produk. Growing up in Crown Heights (Brooklyn N.Y.), Produk experienced first-hand the hardships most people rap about. Nothing fake or fabricated, his rhyme style became gritty and yet knowledgeable at the same time. Though Produk grew up in the heart of Crown Heights, his music is laced with punch lines and thoughts of betterment rather than dope boy ambitions. He learned the ins and outs of the New York hustle at an early age. One year into high school, Produk was faced with a life changing decision. He was forced to relocate from New York to North Carolina. This experience pushed his work ethic to a higher level and at the same time opened new doors and connections to FM radio play and networking. After relocating back to Brooklyn in 2007, Produk would move on to release his 2 highly noted mixtapes “Produk Iz The Future” Hosted by DJ Jay Walk and “Bruce Wayne” Pt. 1 Hosted by DJ Bootleg. With the success of BWP1 gaining over 1100 downloads the first week via Datpiff; Produk would move on to release “Bruce Wayne” Pt. 2 Hosted by DJ Piombo (Coast 2 Coast DJ’s). Produk is currently independent with hopes to go major. His work ethic and song writing abilities have excelled over time making him a solid artist. And for those who are unfamiliar with his music, he produces as well.
