John Mooney aka Cyclic is from Leicester (UK) and has been involved with music since he was ten years old learning piano forte & music theory; throughout his early and late teens it was a natural progression to learn how to use drum machines, synthesizers and sequencers, whilst adding his own hip hop vocals to them. After being exposed to the following events 'Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, One Nation’ John was inspired to MC and adopted the name ‘Maveric MC’ and began performing at events in the UK and abroad. Fast forward to 2008, John decided to use his full potential and go back to his first passion - writing music. After experimenting with multiple genres, it was clear that drum and bass held his attention. The name ‘Cyclic’ was born simply through understanding the different musical chapters throughout his life - life cycles!! The Cyclic sound is inspired by artists such as ‘Jean Michel Jarre, John Carpenter, Kraftwerk, Hans Zimmer, Bjork, and Good looking Records’ Cyclic covers a spectrum of cinematic, progressive, dark rolling and intelligent drum and bass.
