Biography

Damez is a rapper, singer, dancer, songwriter, & a rising voice in music. In 2022, MTV NEWS said Damez was "ready to take the throne." Primarily Hip-Hop and R&B, he showcases his talents and versatility through an eclectic catalog of self-penned songs & choreography-heavy visuals & performances. He's been featured on Billboard twice, has covered 'Out' , 'Atlanta Magazine' and other publications, performed for Pride festivals as well as organizations like Human Rights Campaign and GLAAD.
Born Damién Denzel Ross Henderson in Jackson, Mississippi, he discovered his love for music at an early age & began writing songs and performing in front of family as a child. After relocating with his family to Atlanta, Georgia at 6, he began to explore his artistry as he experienced his adolescent years into early adulthood, going through an unfortunate series of events such as the divorce of his parents and the horrific murder of his brother at the tender age of 17. (Google: “Justice For Ryan Henderson”). While in college, he began independently recording music and performing live shows. He has since released a number of projects & singles globally on iTunes, Amazon, and all digital streaming platforms since his debut EP arrived via SoundCloud in 2014. Being black & LGBT in today’s challenging society has not been an easy road for him, but he’s channeled the unique intersectionality of his life experiences in his music and hopes to be a voice for unique people everywhere.
