Hailing from the outskirts of southern Virginia, Lul Gwap is a versatile artist and songwriter. Only at the young age of 19, Lul Gwap had endured a lifetime's worth of trials and tribulations even before he was noticed for his musical talent. Growing up in Warrenton, Virginia, Lul Gwap was raised in a family of six. From that age, Gwap moved around with his mother and siblings living in homeless shelters and churches when they could. With Gwap not having his biological father's presence in his life, his mother having him at the age of 16, and most of his family battling drug addiction, this caused him to experience the struggles of life at a very early age. Fast forward to 2017, Gwap decided that he put forth time into an activity he'd had a liking for since he was young, which was music. He started by dropping singles and received grave reviews on his sound and unique cadence. With his manager Darryn of Self Paid Entertainment, Gwap began to create a buzz around his area with singles such as "Shooterz" and "Booted." It wasn't until tragedy struck that made the young artist change his ways. His mother passed away due to drugs that were given to her that were laced by fentanyl. Also, he lost a few friends to gun violence. It made Gwap realize that he needed to put his all into his music career to provide for his family.
