South Philadelphia native, Dexter Moore has been performing in front of audiences since age 11. Dexter grew up in a musical family. His dad is an organist, both brothers are drummers, his sister (R.I.P.) was the singer in the family and his mom (R.I.P.) played the piano. You could say music is in his genes. Like many talented musicians, Dexter’s initial exposure began in the church. Through his associations with other talented musicians Dexter was introduced to Gabriel Hardeman, The Gabriel Hardeman Delegation, at a jam session in Camden in 1987 and this would profoundly change his music career forever. In 2017, Dexter released his highly anticipated contemporary jazz album, Keys to Life. In October 2019, he released his latin jazz single, "Tienes Que Moverte." Not resting on his laurels, Dexter followed up with another single titled "Night Rhythm," co-written and co-produced by his business partner Michael Upshaw. Dex has toured in Europe as well as throughout the USA and has been privileged to play behind some real industry heavy-hitters in both Gospel and secular music; including Yolanda Adams, BeBe Winans, CeCe Winans, Vicki Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Norman Hutchins, Edwin Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins, Zahmu, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Miles Jaye and Teddy Pendergrass. Dexter is happily married to his beautiful wife of 22 years and is the proud father of 2 boys.
