Biography

Formed in 2005, Over the Bridge is an all-male close harmony group that built its reputation as the University of Cambridge’s most entertaining vocal ensemble, famed for its “infectious enthusiasm” as well as an ability to display “the vast amount of timbres and textures that a cappella singing can achieve to produce a really special performance” (Cambridgeshire Agenda, July 2010). Since then, the group has performed at a series of prestigious performances. Highlights include: performing at the London 2012 Olympic Games; recording The Colours of Christmas with John Rutter and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on Universal/Decca; performing at Gotham Hall on Broadway in New York as part of the University of Cambridge’s 800th anniversary gala celebrations in America; a Christmas concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Rutter; a series of concerts for the Cambridge Summer Music Festival; and annual sell-out shows at the Amateur Dramatic Club Theatre in Cambridge. The group’s first CD, Under the Influence, was recorded and produced by John Rutter. It features an eclectic mix of styles and, whether you enjoy classic Beatles tracks, smooth jazz or sizzling contemporary hit mash-ups, the disc will certainly not fail to impress!
