Soprano Cristel De Meulder (http://sopraan.eu) can look back on a career in a wide range of styles, from classical to contemporary music. She performs as a soloist together with renowned ensembles and for more than 20 years has also presented a successful programme for voice and organ in her own country as well as throughout Europe, Asia, the Philippines, and South America. As well as being a singer, she is also a vocal coach, choral conductor and artistic director of the ‘Artiestenmissen’ – the artists’ masses in the Sint-Carolus Borromeus Church in Antwerp (www.artiestenfonds.be). IN DULCI JUBILO : Going just over the border of the classical performance with traditional Christmas melodies. A long-cherished dream. Frank De Wolf, jazz double bass player and conductor was the right person to make this a reality. For the right flavour of accompaniment he immediately thought of pianist Nathan Kerstens and flautist Pieter Campo. With these three brilliant, uncomplicated, all-round musicians it clicked immediately. A beautiful start was made creating this intimate, atmospheric Christmas CD. Thanks to their creativity, energy, patience, time and our shared enthusiasm, this project has become a symbiosis of classical music, jazz and folk.
