In 2022, BODUR embraced a new musical language, expanding on her music degree by delving into the rich traditions of the Oud, a fretless Middle Eastern string instrument. Furthering her studies at The Arab British Centre, BODUR deepened her understanding of Arabic music theory and the microtonal Maqam musical system. This new direction in her artistry is reflected in her latest work, which explores profound political themes of racism, xenophobia, and the dehumanization experienced by her and her community. BODUR's music is a dynamic fusion of Alternative-Electronic, Avant-Pop, Rock & Jazz. In April 2023, she unveiled her debut three-track EP, "ÖZ," a compelling exploration of self, youth, growth, and rebirth. The project garnered acclaim from CRACK, Jyoty, Jamz Supernova, Rinse FM, Radio 6, COLORS, Notion, The Line of Best Fit, and Wonderland, which praised it for its "unparalleled aesthetic." BODUR's live performances are a powerful gateway into her unique sonic world. Her shows are marked by striking choreography, theatrical styling, and evocative archival films that reinforce the messages within her music. Together, BODUR and her band have captivated audiences worldwide, from the USA to Europe, culminating in a headline show at London's Roundhouse. BODUR's latest release, "TAPESTRY [HIJAZ]," inspired by maqam hijaz, delves into generational trauma and its impact on her family, offering a glimpse of the exciting project yet to come from this visionary artist.
