For an artist that is preparing for his first EP release, Ras Jem and his music both exude experience and maturity. He was raised on reggae and Rastafari from day one, and for over 20 years he has been developing his own unique approach to music. During that time, he has opened up for premier artists like I-Octane, Pressure Busspipe, Sizzla, Capleton, Stephen Marley, and Beres Hammond. He contributed powerful songs to jugglings like Black Moon and World Traveller for the JAH T JR label, and he also released a clever response to KQueens’ Who Wrong in early 2022 called Dem Wrong. However, the song most representative of what fans are likely to experience with the new EP is Royalty, which serves as both the lead single and title track for the project, as well as an apt description of Ras Jem’s reggae birthright.
