Introduction Let me introduce you to the up and coming smooth Jazz artist Rodney Greene. Although Rodney has been around for awhile, he is finally coming into his own and getting some well deserved recognition in the music industry. Rodney has released three smooth jazz album projects to date, Nice n Slow (2008), Meditation of My Heart (2011) and and his most recent Real Close (2024). Rodney released 2 successful singles from the album Real Close prior to its release . Real Close the single featured Billboard's Smooth Jazz chart topping Saxophone artist Jackiem Joyner and topped at #43 on the Smoothjazz.com charts for 16 consecutive weeks and appeared on several other smooth jazz charts. The second single released titled "No Stopping", also achieved success charting on the Smoothjazz.com Top 100. Musical Influences As child of the old school music era, "I grew up listening to a variety of R&B artists including EWF, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Grover Washington, Ronnie Laws, and others. As the years progressed, I gravitated to contemporary gospel and smooth jazz music. Contemporary smooth jazz artists influences include Brian Culbertson, Boney James, Najee, the late Wayman Tisdale, Norman Brown, Peter White, and Jackiem Joyner.
