ZITAIMA is an Italian/Mexican Singer, Rapper, Songwriter, and CEO. Born in Italy and raised between Los Angeles and London, she grew up in a musical family. At the age of 5, she became the “mascot” in her brother's rock band, performing at their shows. She began writing poems at 12, translating lyrics by rappers Eminem and RAKIM. At 16, she flew to LA, taking classes at Millenium Dance Complex and Debby’s Reynolds Academy. While very young, she signed her first recording contract with an Italian independent label. She released a Trap Mixtape but her music was deemed “too underground” and her projects got shelved. She kept self-releasing music, most notably the single “Leek” by Anthony Louis&Diamond which topped the Top 10 charts and she opened shows for Italian artists Salmo and Club Dogo, to name a few. Her contract was assigned to a NY based label which, after releasing one Mixtape, deemed her music as “not commercially satisfactory” pushing the artist to keep releasing music independently. In 2015 she was featured in Italian rapper Fedez's album and got approached by UMG Italy. Due to misunderstandings with her former label, she was put under a contract freeze banning her from releasing music. In 2016 she moved to NYC, attending freestyle contests and sessions with renamed artists such as Maino, Future, etc. In 2018, she moved to Los Angeles and in 2021 she finally managed to obtain a Release Agreement. ZITAIMA is now working on new music soon to be released.
