Known for the honesty of her lyricism and otherworldly vocal tone, Sam Rui came into prominence in the southeast Asian R&B scene after releasing her debut album "Season 2" in 2017. Rui has collaborated with and ghostwritten for several artists in Singapore and abroad, and has performed on the acclaimed stages of St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Ultra Music Festival, Zouk Singapore, The Formula 1 Grand Prix and Splash Festival Berlin. In 2022, Rui announced she would be going on hiatus to focus on furthering her career in education. Rui currently resides in Singapore, working as a teacher and educational therapist.
