David Edward Gittings, better known by his stage name D-Stylz, is a 31-year-old rapper, singer and songwriter residing in Colorado Springs. Born in Philadelphia but raised in multiple places due to his father's deployments, he attributes not only his deep-rooted love of music & hip-hop, but the versatility in his writing to his birthplace and upbringing. Receiving a music scholarship to Adams State College (now University), Gittings excelled as a section leader of the school's drumline due to his knowledge of percussion, cadence, rhythm and syncopation. After losing his grandmother in 2009 and finding himself searching for further purpose than in being a teacher, D-Stylz left college in 2011 to put further focus into his music. He is one half of the group Affliction Music with long-time girlfriend Sarah Nelson (or High Key) and the creator/founder of the Mountain House Music Collective, a multi-faceted promotion, artist development and event coordination company dedicated to the advancement of up-and-coming creatives and the betterment of the Colorado music scene. His most recent album, Finding Forever (2018) is out on all major platforms, with a new project slated to be released by spring of this year.
