Ben’s solo act - 'One Man Tribe' which has been acknowledged by master drummer Doudou N'Diaye Rose, presents his innovative drumming style, playing a set of 10 African drums simultaneously, creating a massive sound of a tribe of drummers inspired by the deep Senegalese drumming traditions. In 2020-2023 Ben gained national recognition in Senegal after being featured on famous Senegalese TV shows with millions of viewers and having solo shows around the capital, Dakar. His activity in Senegal led to a personal meeting with Youssou N'Dour and musical collaborations with Cheikh Lo, Omar Pene, Awadi and Doudou Ndiaye Rose. Xalam - Ben’s debut album release on World Music Network showcases his Xalam/Djeli Ngoni playing and compositions, featuring West African music legends Khaira Arby, Doudou Ndiaye Rose and Amy Sacko.
