Mister Lees cleverly combines some of the UK’s most appreciated genres to bring us a fresh new sound. It’s commercial but with undertones of underground garage, grime and hip hop. Mister Lees has been working in the music industry for more than ten years. He endured 5 years of homelessness in his early life, sleeping on the streets of Central London hugging his guitar as he slept at night. In 2014, he was found by a team of outreach workers and placed into housing in Shoreditch, the heart of London’s live music scene. In 2017, Lees completed his degree in Music Production with First-Class Honours. Momentum was building. 2019, saw him selling out crowds at some of London’s most well-established music venues. The sound that this developed caught much attention; Grime, Garage and Pop Music combined but played live on stage with a band. Lees took this sound and entered Hotvox’s Isle of Wight Festival Competition which was unfortunately cancelled at the semi-final stage due to Covid-19. He released his first single ‘LDN’ in 2020 amassing over 10,000 streams. In more recent times, Mister Lees has become the manager of Links Studios in East London, helping some of London’s most hard to reach young people to reach their full potential through music studio sessions. He also became Company Director of More Than Music, a music company which he runs with The legendary, DJ Shorty. Music that is worthy of a spin on your station from an artist that is worthy of a spot on your playlists.
