Tony Humphries is a new wave hip-hop rapper who has already established himself as a rare breed of talented freestyler. He has received support from BBC Introducing making For Sure their track of the week on the 1Xtra Playlist (BBC) as well as being voted Charlie Sloth's 'Gas track of the week'. From a young age Tony has had a fascination with lyrics. He grew up listening to The Doors and Led Zeppelin. By the age of 14 Tony had formed EKR with Astro Blacksmith, Empra and a number of local MCs. They used to skip school to cypher and battle rappers at Raw Material in Brixton. This is where Tony discovered his talent for freestyling. After the group split, Tony changed his direction and started Nylon Sky, an alternative band that blended hip-hop and rock music. Nylon Sky toured the UK, USA and Europe for ten years. Their album ‘Little Things, Bigger Picture’ gained critical acclaim. In 2015 the band split; Tony went through a number of personal issues during this time and it took a toll on his mental wellbeing. He admitted himself to The Priory for depression and it was here that Tony started writing for his solo project. After his discharge he linked up with production duo Eastern Disco and signed to Evil Genius Records.
