Biography

The "Africanism" project was created by renowned French DJ and producer Bob Sinclar. The crew's aim is to celebrate the richness and diversity of African and world music by incorporating it into the context of modern electronic music. The tracks combine elements of house, tribal music and percussion, creating a unique fusion of styles. The project was launched in the early 2000s, with the album "Africanism I" released in 2001. This album was the result of a collaboration between Bob Sinclar and other notable artists on the electronic scene, such as Liquid People, DJ Gregory and Julien Jabre. Building on this success, a second album was released in 2003, featuring tracks such as Martin Solveig's "Heartbeat", Masters at Work's "Ekabo", Gwen's "Soul Conga" and Bibi's "Macumba Walele". Released in 2005, "Africanism III" includes such iconic tracks as "Zookey" by Yves Larock and "Summer Moon" in collaboration with David Guetta, Joachim Garraud and Tim Deluxe. These tracks were a big hit in clubs around the world, and helped popularize the fusion of electronic music with African sounds. Since then, Africanism has remained active, with the release of a 4th Volume in 2015 and a 5th Volume in the near future, helping to establish a lasting connection between Western electronic music and world music influences.
