Biography

A modern-era polymath, Prof. Cesar Marolla (Ph.D. c) is a scientist, classically trained guitarist, author, and lecturer. Cesar's technical ability, and heartfelt compositions, both in finger style and picking techniques took him to travel the world performing with major international artists in Europe, North and South America, Middle East, and North-east Africa, such as the principal cellist of the Berlin Philharmonic, Ludwig Quandt, ex Paco de Lucia, saxophonist Jorge Pardo, six-times Grammy winner, Oscar Stagnaro, Frank Sinatra, Buenos Aires Symphony Orchestra, the legendary Bebu Silvetti (Paul Anka, Placido Domingo), opened for Al Di Meola and a brief stint in Europe with his mentor, Maestro Paco de Lucia. Cesar entered the Beethoven Conservatory and obtained the diploma of superior teacher of guitar at the young age of seventeen years old. A prodigy in many areas, He was included in the 2004 Guitar Encyclopedia written by musicologist and pedagogue, Francisco Herrera. He didn't stop pursuing other interests. After graduating with a master's degree from Harvard and now a candidate for a Ph.D. at Glasgow Caledonian University, he wrote books and lectured internationally, working with leaders from the UN, World Bank, and Harvard University. He was honored to be the recipient of the 2013 Harvard University Derek Bok Civic Prize Award that recognizes creative initiatives in community service and long-standing records of civic achievement.
