Sherwin Gardner is a pioneer in Caribbean gospel music. He was one of the first artists to record gospel music with Reggae, Soca and Dancehall rhythms. He rose to the top of his field with songs such as “I Worship You,” “Leaning (Lion of Zion)” and “He Died for Me.” Gardner is now on a mission to expand his base internationally. 2017 he released his billboard chart topping album “Greater” (Flow Masters/Tyscot) that features the inspiring worship anthem, “Because of You,” which received global radio airplay. A native of Trinidad & Tobago, Gardner hails from a family of evangelists. His mother, Rev. Merle Gardner, is a pastor; his uncle, Kennedy Patterson, is a gospel artist and his grandfather, Ivan Patterson, was a Bishop in the New Testament church. Gardner began singing in churches at the age of five, and recorded his first album, “Power in the Name,” when he was 17. At the time, gospel music with Caribbean instrumentation was considered secular and was rejected by many because they focused on the rhythm instead of the lyrics. Minds began to change as they witnessed Gardner’s music influencing youth to change their lives and to become Christians. Four years after his Billboard chart-topping album “Greater,” international worship leader Sherwin Gardner is inviting you to experience a new sound that will leave you energized, uplifted, and impacted to direct your praise upward toward heaven.
