Parlaying social media success to the Billboard charts, Dixie's sometimes conflicted, anthemic pop was introduced with 2020's "Be Happy." Streamed tens of millions of times, it cultivated a following that carried over to collaborations like that year's "One Whole Day" featuring Wiz Khalifa and 2021's "Psycho" featuring Rubi Rose, as well as solo outings including 2021's "The Real Thing." Following quickly in the footsteps of her little sister Charli's successful social media channel, Norwalk, Connecticut native Dixie D'Amelio became one of the ten most-followed video accounts in the U.S. and joined the roster of a major talent agency in 2019. She soon signed with music label Hitco and released her debut single, "Be Happy," in June 2020. It went to number 34 in Ireland and number one on Billboard's Top Triller U.S. chart, a measure of social media videos using a song. D'Amelio followed that up with "Naughty List," a holiday collaboration with singer/songwriter Liam Payne that topped the same Billboard chart in addition to cracking the Top 50 in the U.K. and Ireland. Before the end of the year, she released "One Whole Day" featuring Wiz Khalifa and the solo "Roommates." Dropping her last name, Dixie began 2021 with "FUCKBOY," her third Top Triller U.S. number one. She followed it in July with "Psycho" featuring rapper Rubi Rose before returning in October with the solo "The Real Thing." ~ Marcy Donelson
