25 Aniversario, Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea’s recent album celebrates 25 years of success as a ground-breaking all-female mariachi and its first release with ADA Latin and the Warner Music group, marking a new direction of creative musical innovation with its fusion of popular Mexican Regional styles. Representing the 25-year legacy, the original founding members of Mariachi Divas were invited to contribute to the recording process by Cindy. The long friendships of the ensemble members are evident as one can hear the camaraderie that emanates throughout each song. Combining the founding members with the current generation of Divas adds to the continuity of the music-making process. As the ensemble's founder and lead trumpet player, Cindy Shea also serves as a composer, arranger, producer, and engineer on this 20th album release, which is recorded in her studio, 7th Avenue, under her record label, 7th Avenue Records. The album features an eclectic array of music ranging from mariachi classics to Cumbia, Norteño, and Pop styles. “Me Estoy Enamorando” is Mariachi Divas’ mariachi version of La Mafia’s hit song sung by the original singer, Oscar de La Rosa. In collaboration with Becky G, “Bluetooth” will have everyone out on the dancefloor. Produced by Cindy Shea, Edgar Cortazar, and Oscar Villa, this album celebrates the perseverance and persistence of the group and Cindy Shea’s vision for continually innovating and pushing the scope of what mariachi music is and can be.
