Hey, I'm Ashavari! - it rhymes with a strawberry 🍓. I love singing, writing, composing, dancing and creative directing. I've been performing since I was a little girl, training my voice since high school, but I only really honed in my craft as a solo artist during the pandemic. I used to be a choir girl that was in some prog metal bands, but now, I like to experiment with all kinds of sounds! I drift between alternative r&b, neosoul, dark pop and even electronic, jazz fusion and grunge vibes. Music is fluid — and just like my identity as an Indian-Canadian girl, caught between two worlds, I never felt like I fit any of the "boxes" society tried to put me in; so my music is very much an expression of that.
