growing up, I spent many, many hours on long roadtrips, listening to a mixture of my parents' favorite genres: new wave from the 80s (think General Public, Depeche Mode, The Cure), rock and folk classics from the 70s (Jackson Browne, Fleetwood Mac, Carole King), and 2000s EDM (Cascada, Tiesto, La Roux). I think this wide range comes through in my music, combining honest, diary-entry lyricism and soulful vocals with a pop songwriting sensibility.
