PPG is a collective whose passion and technical skills for music were forged through thousands of hours working to produce, write, record, arrange, mix, and master all of our own work in our self-constructed studio in the living room of our shared college apartment in Durham, North Carolina. Over the past two years, our studio was home to over two dozen artists ranging from complete novices to those with hundreds of thousands of streams. That we were building a collective was not unbeknownst to us. Its thin walls made a fortress that surrounded mind-bending conversations between people who had never met, collaborations between artists with previously untapped synergy, and displays of love whether it be through heated confrontation or warm embrace. At the dawn of 2021, we dropped Designer Fits and Miami Pain to an audience of our peers and performed them at a small party that May. Almost a year later we released our first EP. A triad of songs that spoke to our brotherhood, reconciled our romantic pasts, and addressed the frailty of nostalgic attachment. Our latest effort ‘A Time Called Home’ is an album produced fully independently. It is an homage to the hours shared, blood spilled, tears wept, and hearts poured into the environment we built as PPG in our home studio. These seven tracks are a neatly packaged gift to the listener who’ll open it to find a fictionalized photograph of our past, but it will also make clear that we’re in the future now.
